Summer’s on the way, bringing with it the seasonal sublet. Here’s a two-month, furnished summer sublet in Fort Greene, at 202 Washington Park. While we’re not crazy about the kitchen, it doesn’t look like a bad place to shack up for a few months. And who wouldn’t want to be off Fort Greene park during the summer? The rent will run you $3,200/month. Care to weigh in?

  1. The thing is short-term sublets are always pricier (because they include furniture/utilities), so the difference between a blah option and being on the park is not that much in the grand scheme of things. Airfare, food, rent, it will all add up to a $10-12,000 summer. You shouldn’t compare to a regular rent, but to the equivalent in a hotel.

  2. $3200 per month is insane, even for a a lovely block. There is ONE bedroom in this apartment. Now, fortunately that bedroom is in the back, given that every Saturday morning the occupants will be awakened by farmers market trucks arriving around 6 am.

And they won’t even have to leave the house to hear music most of the day in the summers (BAM does its thing on the corner, others do theirs in the park).

Any “grandparents” who can afford this probably gave their kids enough money to buy a whole brownstone with a guestroom.

  3. Yeah, certainly not bad when compared to hotels, of course… But have to compare to other short term sublets in area…. Still going to feel like a lot to us who know what this apt would rent for ordinarily. But that’s not what summer visitors are comparing to.
