Assuming this apartment at 609 17th Street in Windsor Terrace is a true three-bedroom and has a working bathroom—there’s no picture of it—it’s seeming like a good deal. The apartment, which looks to be in decent shape, isn’t in the fanciest of buildings, but it’s close to the park and subway. The rent comes in at $2,300, which is pretty reasonable for the area, no?

  1. 17th street sucks. If it is on the south side you may get expressway noise. I live on Prospect and pay $2100 for a TRUE 3-BR. though it is a main street it’s quiet in the back. Not so sure 17th street is a better location.

  2. Reminds me of a place down the street from this one that I looked at to rent 25 years ago. Loved the light. Rent a mere fraction of this then, of course, but the kitchens weren’t renovated yet down this way back then.

May not be a horror, could just be more than what else is available in the neighborhood.

  3. This is directly across the street from my apartment (I can see it from my bedroom and living room windows). If it’s a true 3-bedroom, I would think it’s a pretty good deal — most of the 2-bedrooms in the area are being listed around $1800-2000 now, so $2300 for 3 bedrooms would be a bit of a bargain. It’s a nice, quiet street, and, being on the western edge of Windsor Terrace, it’s a short walk to 7th Avenue in Park Slope (which is convenient with the subway work going on these days).

  4. “Available March 1,” says the ad, so either this is long gone or it’s a horror and still around, in which case Brittney needs to update her website. Either way it doesn’t deserve further consideration.

  5. “Available March 1,” says the ad – so either the place is long gone or it was a horror and is still around, in which case the agent needs to update her website. Either way I don’t think this bears further consideration.
