The listing for this loft at 738 Grand Street says it’s “raw,” and it does sport concrete floors, exposed brick and 14-foot ceilings. However, a bedroom and kitchen space have been carved out. There’s a private roof space, too. There aren’t enough pictures to make a judgment on the size, but it’s listed as 1,250 square feet. The rent is $2,700. Thoughts? Update: This is a commercial lease that can be used as a live/work space.

  1. I think it’s just a commercial space… someone may choose to live in it, but.

Lot’s of shops would have a full bathroom and kitchenette. For showering at the end of the day and making lunch. And the “bedroom” would be the office.

That said — the high bay door is great, but $2700!!? Seems a bit high, no? I guess it’s already built out, so maybe not.

  2. “However, a bedroom and kitchen space have been carved out.”

Ad on broker site makes no mention of a bedroom. I think you may have mistakenly pulled a commercial space listing.

  3. And words to the wise: the DOB has been cracking down pretty hard on illegal conversions, trolling Craigslist for ads and sending undercover investigators, following the death of people and firefighters in fires.
