Rental of the Day: 446 Kent Avenue, #7B
This two-bed, two-bathroom apartment at Schaefer Landing is perfectly nice as far as Williamsburg rentals go. There’s plenty of space and a killer view to boot. (Subway access: not so much.) Also, the rent of $3,300 seems pretty fair for a newish development on the waterfront. Agree? 446 Kent Avenue, #7B [Great Jones Realty] GMAP…

“One Brooklyn Bridge Park is closer to downtown though.”
and SL is closer to midtown, so?
One Brooklyn Bridge Park is closer to downtown though.
it’s the same distance from the subway as One Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Doesn’t seem like a lot for a decent (real) two bedroom with views and amenities (I assume you get use of the fitness center). The walk to the JMZ is not bad, and there is the water taxi there (and better ferry service coming in a few months).
But, this development is still hugely isolated – not just in terms of commuting, but in terms of living. Seems like there is a good community within the building, but other than 475 Kent, you have to go blocks before you find a) shopping; b) dining; c) neighbors.
I thought that rental was $3K? Or maybe that is a different one? If I still wanted to use Williamsburg schools, it might be worth it at $3K. They do look big, those apartments — unlike most of their competition.
> my unit is fantastic
Teehee.
RE: 11217
Technically, you don’t have to ride a shuttle to the subway. I believe it is what is commonly referred to as an “amenity”.
The Marcy stop is an 8-10 minute walk.
As far as the building, different strokes for different folks. I’m not in love with the exterior, but my unit is fantastic.
Why would anyone want to move to a place where you have to take a shuttle just to get to a subway?
Don’t get it. Building is hideous too.
“4. if i wanted to be in the water i’d live on the north side”
if this was on the northside it would be about 2k more per month without a view.
