267 State Street was a House of the Day selection back in August, shortly after the asking price was reduced to $3,200,000. That apparently didn’t work out because it is now being listed for rent. This 4,200-square-foot home (one of the famous 14 Townhouses) will run you—brace yourself—$16,500 a month, a pretty penny indeed. But it’s spacious with a tasteful design. Think this home will have better luck as a rental?

  1. i’ve always loved these modern state st townhomes but would never rent for that kind of money. if i had a few mill lying around i’d buy one though. walked by that block at christmas and many of them looked great from the street with their xmas trees and tasteful decor.

  2. I don’t think that one has to sport a silk smoking robe to find 20K a month stretching it quite a bit for this place. I can live with the decor, though it’s not my favorite, but the facade of this house is seriously drab. While the inside of the place is a matter of taste, it would sure be depressing to walk up to this plain (ugly?) facade every day. Still, some people seem to have plenty of money to blow on rent and, as they say, there’s a cover for every pot, so, who knows?

  3. “For 20k a month, you could have lived in a historic park slope manor. Not a bland Miamized-condo.”

    Blayze;

    Some of us can’t see ourselves in a silk smoking robe, puffing on a pipe as we gaze out from the manor.

    Seriously: this is a single-family house, not a condo. One should read the post before applying your typical rubber-stamp comment.
