Here’s a development that went completely under our radar! This four-story, four-unit condo hit the market back in November of 2009. We are finally checking in after the four units got their first price cuts just two weeks ago. A two bedroom with 1,641 square feet dropped from $1,400,000 to $1,200,000. A 966 square-foot three bedroom is now $820,000 from $950,000. What do you think of the design? What do you think the owners of the Civil War-era yellow house think of the design?

  1. “why did you buy an apartment that obviously came with a premium because of a school if you dont have kids going to that school?”

    Maybe for the same reason you pay a higher rent to live in the exact same school district you just criticized someone for.

  2. “Could care less. Life in the big city.” Actually, couldn’t care less is what I think he meant, but unfortunately, he’s correct – unless you live in a landmarked district. And this building is far from hideous, thankfully, unlike some of the things farther south around here.

  3. Rob;

    I liked the apartment.

    I grew up in a family of 6 in a 1000 square foot apartment with one bathroom. I can honestly say that I never remember the time-sharing of the bathroom to be a big issue.

  4. “no, it’s the opposite. larger families tend to be very clingy and smaller families tend to do their own thing and prefer their privacy.”

    Coming from a family of 7, growing up in 2 story plus basement with around 1500 sq ft I beg to differ. It was a constant struggle for space and we all couldn’t wait til someone moved out! lol

    I live in a condo complex at 3rd St. off 4th Ave, and 3 BR 1350 square feet apartments are going for just a tad under $1M. We are in the 321 school district, however, which commands a premium.

    Wouldn’t the same person who needs a 3 bedroom OBVIOUSLY need a lot more living space to go with it?

    no, it’s the opposite. larger families tend to be very clingy and smaller families tend to do their own thing and prefer their privacy.

  7. Agree with Etson that the prices are just a little high.
