I want to say it’s the Woody Guthrie song “This Land Was Made for You and Me” but that would mean that I actualy UNDERSTOOD what you student was trying to convey in the terrible, TERRIBLE example of “writing” you’ve shared, six years. PLEASE tell me I’m wrong.
Yep, cobblehiller, the second song was indeed “This Land is Your Land”…the first one is definitely more of a challenge.
The only personality I really wonder about here is Mr. B; there will be an ontological debate raging in a thread about the soul of Brownstoner, and then I’ll refresh the page and see “Checking in at the Satori” or something. If I were him I’d crack a bottle of liquor each night and sit up reading what everyone had to say.
But like real artists, he couldn’t care less. Andrew Wyeth said if he had to paint “Christina’s World” again, he’d probably take out Christina from it. This site is expanding and moving into a larger place conceptually; we should too.

It was a hurtful experience for some. It was very confusing to have Mr. B, who had recently attended a poster function, turn around and say something that seemed to invite invective towards regulars.
Yes, I think ditto should come back and hope he does, but I understand why if he doesn’t.
