I went to the open house and the pictures are really deceiving. Corcoran must be great with Photoshop! In reality, the house is in really bad shape and there are clearly hidden problems. The price is as out of touch with reality as the pictures are!
thats what i dont understand about rugby road. it would sell at the right price. $1.1 million isnt even close.
The Rugby Rd house is a horror show! The basement is water damaged and the back wall is eaten by termites. Mary Kay Gallagher and Brooklyn Properties couldn’t unload this heap, so good luck Corcoran! Maybe you’ll get some poor soul to overpay for this beauty!
Aw, poor Rugby Rd!
But, yes, I think a lot of us just .. .well, those houses are not old enough to have anything quaint or even retro about them. Just .. .. ick. Bad childhood associations.
And the yellow room about to “warp into some Much horror scene” — um, yeah.
dont worry, everyone. rugby road is landmarked.
Thanks for the laugh Brenda, it made me go to the website. Picture no. 2 of the bare yellow room is psychologically unnerving. I’m expecting it to warp into some Munch horror scene.
The Rugby house’s pics gave me flashbacks to my childhood…in Milwaukee (especially the decor)! Brenda, your comment is perfect!
How is 1965 “mid-century”? That poor generic ranch house in PPS always looks like the one girl who came to the formal dance in a khaki skirt and flip-flops. I believe it was built as infill housing after the original Victorian burned up or something. Have to admire their spin.
I’m kind of loving the Rugby road House – mid-century in Ditmas Park!! But if it were only a couple hundred thousand cheaper…
