Fall must be the season for ribbon cuttings. Today at noon, another ribbon will be cut at The Concern Heights Apartments, a new 90-unit mixed-use supportive housing development in Crown Heights. The Concern for Independent Living will provide building services to formerly homeless individuals recovering from mental illness and to low-income individuals and families from the community. There were 15 affordable one-bedrooms and fifteen affordable two-bedrooms put up for lottery. The other 60 units were reserved for special needs housing. The Concern for Independent Living, the Community Preservation Corporation, New York State Senator Eric Adams, New York City Comptroller John Liu, and other pols and residents will make it out to 805 East New York Avenue this afternoon for the opening celebration.
