Ooops. Strike that last comment. I did see it, but I did not realize it was on Remsen. That seems like a great price for that particular house.
I don’t recall ever seeing the listing for the house on Remsen street. Was it a private sale? Does anyone recall seeing it?
While the Heights is clearly plummeting! Not! Haha. Thanks for the response Minard.
wasder, no offense taken.
Yes, with every sale like this, Fort Greene’s reputation as an upscale area gets stronger and stronger.
you didn’t say anything bad, you were just skeptical of this location at this price. you often seem to undersell fort greene and I was just wondering whether this changes your impression of the market in this neighborhood. no offense meant.
Wasder, what did I say? that it was a lovely house but that I wasn’t sure it would sell for 2.5 million? Well, it sold for 2.3 so congratulations to the sellers.
Regarding So. Portland, the most relevant comment in the original thread is the one that bemoans the shortage of high end brownstones on the market in Fort Greene. This house wasn’t/isn’t perfect (what house is?) but it IS move-in-able and then some(lots of gorgeous features — but I don’t mean the wallpaper).
Minard–what do you think of the sale on S. Portland vis a vis your original comments?
Lovely Brooklyn Heights house.
I hope the person who bought it appreciates the special aesthetic qualities of fine Greek Revival houses and knows how rare they are.
