The folks over at Curbed bring us news that One Brooklyn Bridge Park, the warehouse-turned-luxury-condos (and now rentals), is handing out cars with units priced over $2 million, along with a parking spot to berth it. And this isn’t the first luxury development to launch such a campaign, apparently: Windows on 123 in Harlem and 727 Prospect Place in Prospect Heights have both offered internal combustion engines to lure buyers. Curbed points out that the Audi A4 lists in the low $30,000s, which might be beneath any buyers who are capable of dropping $2 million on a condominium, but let those marketers try. GMAP
One Brooklyn Bridge Park Shows Off Its Audi [Curbed]
Is this the complex that was supposed to earn money to maintain the park?
the units facing the water are special – how special (pricey) is up for debate. The ones facing BQE is the exact opposite (no view, lousy air quality, long trek to subways,…). Think they need to price the units as such – try to hold on units facing the water and fire sale the ones facing bqe. the monthly mainenance is big nut too.
for sure m4l – i’d buy japanese before german anyday.
DH, so you pushing for some Lexus LS?
I guess that last round of price cuts did not work at all? How low do they have to go?
BOD beat me to it – Audis are nothing more than dressed up VWs aka mechanical nightmares.
has such gimmicks worked in moving pricey units as such at other developments?
say it with me….”CUT THE PRICES”
i’ll be the first to say it: 727 Prospect Place is in Crown Heights proper, not even close to the disputed PH/CH border.
whatever.
i think it’s good marketing.
