House of the Day: 30 Strong Place

As for the parlor floor, we wish the original mantels were still in place, but otherwise there’s lots of original charm. How do you think this’ll fare?

Interesting. This is Dan Zanes’ old place.
I’m not usually so critical but at this price for such a small house you have to be. I agree the floors are a mess, the stairs are a joke and the mantles look like they were bought in Walmart.
it’s a nice house. Just take $90,000 off the asking price to rebrownstone the facade and restore the cornice.
Painting the windows black to match the new cornice would be a good idea too.
Given the asking price of these new construction “Brownstones” being built on the same block (Strong Place) this listing is a bargain :
$4 Million = http://www.brennanrealtyservices.com/listing/4-strong-place-cobble-hill-single-family-custom-townhome/
4.35 Million = http://www.brennanrealtyservices.com/listing/4a-strong-place-cobble-hill-1-or-2-family-custom-townhome/
$6 Million = http://www.brennanrealtyservices.com/listing/2-strong-place-two-family-home-with-detached-carriage-house/
no one said brennan will get those prices.
Obviously – just for comparison
It’s an ugly house from the street.
For 2.8 million dollars, I want a house with a decent street facade.
This one has a stripped-down 1960’s facade, which looks like it is on its last legs.
I know some people don’t care about what their house looks like from the street, and I guess if one is on a budget, it may be the last priority but this is a 2.8 million dollar house with a facade that dates back to when it was a $15,000 house.
Ok I’ll bite – what happened at 24 Remsen?
