If all modern builds looked this good, we might be less enthralled with old houses. Today’s HOTD is a resale at the much-praised 14 Townhouses development by architects Rogers/Marvel in Boerum Hill. We’re loving the floor to ceiling windows on the parlor floor, the double height rear dining room, the marble in the bath and the Bulthaup kitchen — particularly the counter. The floors look beautiful too, and the whole thing looks like a home, not an office. The single family house has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and a wood burning fireplace. One downer, though: The 421b tax abatement expires in 2015. How do you like it and the ask of $3,750,000?

  1. One of these houses 4 doors down re-sold for $3.3 million about a year ago…in today’s market, I’d guess this will go into contract at or near ask in less than a month. A house in one of the hot neighborhoods in the $3 million range, excellent condition and contemporary design comparable to a condo, is in a super-sweet spot right now. Those new-build townhouses in Dumbo smack under the Manhattan Bridge quickly escalated in price from $4 to $5 million over the course of 3-4 weeks (in late summer to boot).

  2. No, I’m not really liking any of it.
    the rooms look very narrow.

For 3M, I would think one would /should like to pick out their own kitchen cabinetry, bathroom tiles, inside doors, flooring, lighting, etc……

I hate builders taste. This is done freaking ugly
