House of the Day: 63 Gates Avenue

Besides being yet another example of a brokerage firm needing to invest a couple of hundred bucks in having some decent photographs taken, 63 Gates Avenue is an interesting new listing for house hunters in Clinton Hill. The two-family house is located at the corner of Waverly and Gates avenues and sports some cute rounded windows on the side of the house as well as a two-car garage, an increasingly nice amenity as it gets harder to park in the neighborhood. It’s hard to tell from the photos how much original detail the house has retained, but our guess is some but not all. At 16 feet, the brownstone is a little skinny but probably fine depending on the layout. $1,700,000 is feeling a little steep unless the interior’s nicer than it appears. Anyone seen this yet?
