We’re not necessarily in love with all the design choices at 138 Coffey Street, but given that the two-family house recently received a total gutting and modern renovation, it’s certainly worth taking a look at during these quiet days of summer. (New listings have slowed to a trickle already, it seems!) The exterior is kind of fun in sort of a post-modern way–and the roofdeck (with killer views of the harbor) is a nice bonus. As for the inside, the kitchen is the nicest space, with its high ceiling and wall of windows, while the living room and bedroom suffer from lower ceilings and a dearth of character. (The stair design is more successful.) Anyway, for its size and location, the asking price of $1,690,000 seems a bit steep to us, a notion seemingly validated by the fact that the house has been on the market since March.
