Some of the renovated parts of this house at 847 Hancock don’t float our boat, but the original details that dominate the brownstone are so impressive that it doesn’t really matter. That woodwork is to die for! The three-story house is a legal three-family but currently configured as a two-family. The toughest selling point of the house is probably location–it’s pretty deep into Bed Stuy, almost at Broadway. Given the condition of the house though, the $599,000 asking price definitely takes that into account. How do you think this will fare on the open market?

  1. no, i really think the bushwick border is a positive. Filter “Bushwick” in either the neighborhood articles or the restaurant reviews on Brownstoner, you start to get an idea of the neighborhood. Its #1 for some people. I don’t think its particularly family-friendly, but it could be, who knows.

  2. itsthebigguy, you do realize that this place is not near Broadway Junction at all, not even close. I agree the place has some very ugly interiors, but come on. At least walk the area before commenting, I do on a daily basis.

  3. Looks like a nice house. Just asking about 100k more than they should be. If they’re lucky they get a 5 in front of any offer. The location might be changing rapidly but not that rapid. Its still pretty rough down there, 1 block from broadway junction and then bushwick. Another over priced Corcoran listing is all i see.

  4. I absolutely agree with everyone here, you do not have a rental above you. EVEr !!

The decorating is horrific. But to each his own, it can be changed. I would just switch the kitchen and Dining room.

The middle bedroom upstairs isn’t, there is no window in it.

But the layout can be changed……

but no no no rental above…
