House of the Day: 122 Carroll Street
Is it 2007 or something? This house at 122 Carroll Street in Carroll Gardens just hit the market with the absurd asking price of $3,500,000. Clearly part of the reason for the big ask is that the owner recently spent some dough on a renovation either the pictures aren’t very good or the renovation itself…

Could this place even fetch $2 million? Nutso.

Sad to say going rental rates are higher than $2000 for a garden apt in a 22ft wide house in 58 zone. More like $2500.
PS whoever mentioned that 1/2 house selling for more than $2 mill – really not comparable because that apt is stunningly renovated (IMHO)and HUGE. This house looks like a disaster. Absolutely nuts.
calling all suckers.
Oh I missed the faux-stone garden level too. And the front door surround is obviously non-original with the 1960s era bricks.
TWSS
It’s not that big.
On the plus side . . .
One, it’s quite big
Two, it’s . . . um . . . back to you
I hadn’t noticed the stone veneer upgrade to the garden level. certainly that puts it over the $3MM mark. 🙁

…and this is why rents are always going to be so high, because some retard a-hole on wall street will buy it, and then try to rent the basement for 2k a month, and some other a-hole with no other options will think it’s fair market value.
totally spot on
