This freestanding Victorian at 621 East 23rd Street in Ditmas Park has a great feel to it: Nice original floors and wood paneling, lots of windows and funky rooms, front porch and private parking, you get the picture. Given all this, the price of $875,000 seems pretty reasonable to us. What do you think?

  1. You could easily add a bathroom to this though. Since one bedroom is being used as an office/laundry room you could easily change that to a second bathroom. The plumbing is already there and judging by the size of it you could keep the washer/dryer in there in a pantry or closet.

  2. astringer — The modest townhouses on Bedford (MKG has one asking $580K) are rather different from the Victorian standalone houses elsewhere in the nabe. Maybe not $270K different but still significantly so.

  3. Don’t know the nabe enough to comment on the price but I sure love the look of this joint. Great to see how the midcentury furniture “tames” and updates what can easily be the rather overwhelmingly fussy details and dark woodwork of these houses. And wow oh wow, that screen porch is a beaut! The mozzies in Brooklyn are the bane of summer in the city.
