There’s no accounting for taste. This three-family house at 184 West 9th Street was recently renovated and while the interior is just bland in a Home Depot kind of way this facade is one for the record books. What were they thinking! There’s a lot of square footage so maybe the asking price of $1,899,000 will end up working for an investor. It’s hard to imagine a buyer falling in love with this.

  1. Did someone measure wrong when matching the hood and the stove? Either that or they spent all their money on those colored shingles that they didn’t have enough left over for the viking stove that seems to be missing from that space.

  2. There’s a flag displayed in two of the photos in the window. You’d think that taking down place-of-origin flags would be part of the de-personalizing that would happen prior to photos. Not like it would be an involved process to take it down and put it back after photos taken.

  3. How would this work for an investor? There are 2 1200 sq ft apartments above a ~2000 sq ft duplex that’s half basement, on a not very attractive truck route. It would be extremely optimistic to think you’d get a $10k rent roll out of that, which doesn’t come close to covering costs.
