This new listing at 564 2nd Street is a goodie. It’s also a biggie. The Romanesque Revival house is five-stories tall, 23 feet wide and, on the bottom two floors, 65 feet deep. And, based upon the photos, the interior is magnificent, especially the original woodwork. The listing notes that the house could use some “updating,” but given the size and quality of the interiors, we bet that they’ll get pretty darn close to the asking price of $2,995,000.

  1. I’m glad to see two side-by-side powder rooms on the garden level!!!! WTF???

I’d put a second kitchen in that small back room on the parlour level and use the “Rear Parlour” as a formal dining room.

  2. Seriously, this ridiculously huge house is going to be bought by some richy rich with 1 or 2 kids. They will use 4 of the rooms and the rest will be for status…. and heating while Mother Nature weeps.

  3. This place looks like a beauty on the inside. The top two floors have those old ensuite sinks, but alas, no bathrooms (definitely part of the required upgrading needed). Two baths could be stacked quite easily above the one on the third floor to utilize the soil/vent stack.

Why didn’t that renovation last week where they istalled the beam and the awful white columns do a beam and columns like this one in the pic?????

If that woodwork carries through to the top floors, this will go at ask or above. It’s a restored ( or at least beautiful intact original) version of the St marks St house we saw on the CHN House tour.
