This new listing at 564 2nd Street is a goodie. It’s also a biggie. The Romanesque Revival house is five-stories tall, 23 feet wide and, on the bottom two floors, 65 feet deep. And, based upon the photos, the interior is magnificent, especially the original woodwork. The listing notes that the house could use some “updating,” but given the size and quality of the interiors, we bet that they’ll get pretty darn close to the asking price of $2,995,000.

  1. Sorry Minard. Those are only sinks on the top two floors. Additional bathrooms above the one on the third floor are a very easy installation, although supply lines to the bathroom on the third floor are probably not adequate to feed the above bathrooms and will probably need to be bypassed. Still not a difficult job.

  2. doesn’t “w/c” stand for water closet?
Those are toilets. The sinks are separate and are part of the dressing areas between the front and back bedrooms. That is the standard original layout for brownstones in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
They were all built like that. Sometimes the sinks are works of art, hand-painted and very beautiful. Definitely not to pee in.
    Sheesh, this blog…….
