This house at 317 Bainbridge Street in Bedford Stuyvesant could use some TLC, as the listing puts it, but the 20-foot-wide brick has lots of original details to recommend it. Unfortunately the English basement, which is currently unfinished, is a tough sell as usable space, given how sunken it is. If this were truly three stories of livable space the asking price of $680,000 would seem in the ballpark but given that there are really only two floors, we’re not so sure.

Thanks, bkny. I do remember that the blocks are not numbered as they really should be. For example the house numbers across from me are about 10 numbers higher.
That explains my problem with what you originally said.
20X65 lot too??? No Backyard??? That seems odd. I knoiw the house on the corner is very deep as well but it also has a garage instead of a yard. Odd.
DIBS: it’s 411A

DIBS – the house is huge 20×65. i went to the open house last year. it does need upgrading but is ‘liveable’. i just did a search and it said ‘off the market’ not sure what that means. maybe it went into contract. i knew someone that was very interested but was intimidated by upgrading and the fact that eventhough its a legal 2 family, it really works better as a 1 family, since each occupant would only have one floor as a 2 family. if you need income it’s not the greatest layout and they needed income. the only downside was no back yard but the house was supper deep. enough room for your en suite bath!
pigeon- that might be glazed white terracotta brick. I can’t really tell from the pictures but the very expert MM probably can tell us.
There must be something VERY wrong with it. I know which one you mean. It’d be something higher than #421.
It’s been on the market forever and it’s right across from the park. I can only believe that it’s a disaster inside because the location is great (except for the buildup of stopped traffic you get because of the light on Fulton) or maybe it’s really, really small.
It is prime bed stuy, bh!!!!
DIBS – the house on stuy between fulton & chauncey. it was posted awhile ago. i passed by maybe 3 weeks ago and i saw a broker showing it to a young white couple. i inquired with a neighbor and they said it was still for sale, asking about $575k. don’t know if that’s changed in the last few weeks. i saw that house and it is a much better deal than this one.
Before I enter my guesstimate I need DIBS aka diPRIbs to let me know if this prime Bed Stuy or not.
bkny…which are you talking about??? The only place I know of on Stuyvesant that is for sale is a burned out shell. I think 390 something.
