House of the Day: 259 Henry Street
This listing at 259 Henry Street in Brooklyn Heights just hit the market with an eye-popping asking price of $5,250,000. It’s clearly a sweet pad (great location, nice architecture), but that’s a lot of dough for a place that isn’t knocking our socks off. It’s clearly a sweet pad (great location, nice architecture), but that’s a lot of dough for a place that isn’t knocking our socks off. Maybe it’s some of the renovation or decoration choices or maybe it’s the way it’s photographed, but it’s not the kind of classic show-stopper we’d expect for this amount of money in this market. Do you agree?

12,000 diapers is a lot of baby shit.
According to property shark:
lot size; 22.08 ft x 92.5 ft
house size; 22.08 ft x 68 ft
That leaves only about 25 feet for the backyard.
Nice big house, though.
I agree that the house is beautiful. Also very strange that there are no pictures of the kitchen or the backyard, as there should be at least an OK-sized garden to play with.
Goldie’s dream house is also spectacular. I wonder if it would be more but for the large and less attractive mid-century apartment building dominating the back yards.
The Whuh is over in the other thread about the economy ranting about $5MM houses being sold to Wall Street guys. I can’t afford a $5MM house but I don’t rant against it. i don’t think this’ll go for anything above $4MM but that’s a different issue.
Nearly 15K in taxes. Why are Brooklyn Heights RE taxes so much higher than other neighborhoods?
Where’s the photos of the Juliet balconies?
I wanna see!
Any home with an area called “sitting area” gets a gold star.
goldie and dibs, 46 monroe is much more preferable in my book.
Won’t comment on the price (my head does not understand 5M), but the home is clearly very beautiful.
Why no photos or plan of backyard? My guess is, with the large extention to the home, and the usually small BH plots, the backyard is probably tiny.
