House of the Day: 295 Bond Street
An old-school house in Carroll Gardens for under a million bucks? Well, technically that’s true but there are a few catches. An old-school house in Carroll Gardens for under a million bucks? Well, technically that’s true but there are a few catches. The brick two-family at 295 Bond Street is a mere 1,400 square feet and is need of a total renovation. As the listing points out, such a renovation could include the addition of another 1,000 square feet and the creation of a legal commercial space on the ground floor. Still, for $895,000, this is feeling like a tough sell.

2:16, you mean cat urine and shit!
Straight up nasty ass looking house!
folks on this blog can be really nasty. they antagonize and provoke. just their way to get things going. i agree that it can be hurtful. they need to get a life!
What the heck is wrong with you people? Last I checked, this isn’t a forum for cutting people down and criticizing their looks. That’s just plain mean. Why are some users on this site are so *vicious*. It’s really disturbing. As a long-time reader of this blog, I’ve become so disgusted by how all these threads are hijacked by catty, snobby posters. Get a life people. If you need your daily dose of catty comments, check page 6; let’s keep Brownstoner a place for discussing Brooklyn architecture and borough life.
pssssssssssst. nasty all the way around. looks like it stinks of cat urine. and to live next to where garbage trucks would idle forever w/ roting garbage..oh my god the toxins in the air must still linger
I’d consider it if the ugly broker was removed.
the best little shit house in CG
I have no idea what they are using it for now, but the garage to the left of it used to be a repair shop for garbage trucks. They would tow trucks there that broke down in mid-route and were filled with reeking, rotting ooze and leave them on the street until they had time to get around to repairing them. Then after they were done repairing them, they’d power wash them in the street so there would be a nice half inch layer of tallow over the sidewalk. I’d be worried if I bought that house a similar type of business could come back in next door. Obviously the owners have no concern who or what they rent to.
I think this part of Gowanas is really nice very industrial and will become the next trendy nabe. if they are selling other parts of the city than this will sell at this price.
This listing could be the poster boy for the housing bubble. We will all be shaking our heads 18 months from now wondering what the hell we were thinking.
$895k for this shell of a shitbox is laughable.
