When Two Trees opened a real estate brokerage arm a few weeks ago, we assumed it was to primarily sell its own properties in Dumbo. As today’s House of the Day demonstrates, though, they’ve branched out to selling brownstones in other parts of the borough. The three-story house at 293 8th Street between 5th and 6th Avenue in Park Slope is just up the hill from yesterday’s HOTD. The house only has a little over 2,000 square feet of living space so the asking price of $1,599,000, though low on an absolute basis for the neighborhood, isn’t particularly cheap. And although the listing claims that there are plenty of original details, it frustratingly withholds any photos to back it up. Has anyone gotten a look at the interior yet?

Yeah, no one trusts real estate agents anyway.
yeah 2:20, like What are you talking about? Instead of some ambiguous alluding to something, spit it out. Or do you just see evil and conspiracy under every rock?
2:20, what’s the conflict of interest?
It is not so nice between 4th and 5th but between 5th and 6th is nice. You have to remember that a lot of these homes are owned by families that do not make hundreds of thousands a year and brownstone up keep can be a financial burden.
Isn’t it odd that 2 new firms have been discovered in the last couple of days that also do things other than real estate sales and rentals. Makes you wonder whether there is implicitly a conflict of interest or if it just doesn’t matter that they do more than one thing. Seems to walk a very fine line that could lead to confusion at best somewhere down the road. Does this kind of thing happen outside of NYC? I never heard of it.
8th between 5th and 6th is a different animal (and neighborhood) than 8th between 2nd and 3rd, where yesterday’s house was located.

Emily, those are shabby exteriors? They look pretty darn sweet to me.
Is this street nice? I know it’s in PS but the brownstones adjacent to the listed home have pretty shabby exteriors as well.
