This house at 548 1st Street has been on the market since early February. The 21-foot-wide limestone pad, which looks gorgeous to us in just about every way, has an asking price of $3,675,000. That’s no small change, even for a Mac Daddy house in a prime Park Slope location. Still this could be a must-have for some bonus baby, no?

  1. If it goes for 15k/mo. it might be close to a 5% return on 2.5 mil equity, after paying the mortgage & owner expenses. Nice work if you can get it.

That’s actually not a very good return for an illiquid asset like this. I can construct you a portfolio of stocks and bonds with very little risk to yield more than 5%. Where are 30 year treasuries now???

  2. Owners bought in 2006 for $3.1 & took a 600k mortgage
Bought another place in Washington, DC and moved there in 2009.
    Rented w/ BHS for 12k in 2009
Now, changing gears from for sale to for rent for 15k

re: blurry pics, you can check the links I posted – streeteasy, or bhs rental listing.

Rob – Why are you still posting on here. You barely have $375 to even opine on something like this. The fact that you live down the street devalues this house for having ignorant trash as neighbor.

Stop posting your opinions on this blog. There are plenty of apartments available for rent in Newark, NJ. You can go back to Jersey and STFU.

Everyone please don’t judge Bed Stuy people by this ignorant comment.

  4. LM –
I don’t think it’s your computer. A common problem where quality of pics are lost in translation from broker site to brownstoner marketplace. In this case when you click on “See listing on broker website” you get Property Not Found.
