Remember yesterday when we were saying there weren’t many options for buyers who wanted a modern townhouse in Brooklyn? Well, maybe the options aren’t that limited after all: In addition to yesterday’s State Street pad, this recently renovated house at 409 8th Street in Park Slope just hit the market and it’s all modern, all the time. Just don’t let your kids get a look at the children’s room complete with double bed and flat screen TV or they’ll never get off your back! Asking price is $3,195,000, which we can only assume would be a record for this block, especially for what is essentially three-story house.

Reno was done by Ricky of the “Ricky’s” stores a few years ago, and he sold it to the current owners for 3mil (per streeteasy), so I don’t think it’s a ridiculous ask.
Too many TVs!
At what price point do buyers just gut whatever they buy? I thought that was the rule of thumb for anything a wealthy buyer purchased. And I would think that this buyer would have to be wealthy, no?
Unless this place was completely trashed inside when they bought it–like, Grey Gardens trashed–a modern reno like that is a total waste of brownstone. I mean…why buy a brownstone if that’s what you want?
I like the bathroom but not the kitchen. I’m assuming the photo wall and the record wall are easily removed.
It is going to be hard to keep the fingerprints off that floor-to-ceiling glass wall. What a nightmare!
Am not generally crazy about modern, especially in old houses like this, but I actually like that green bathroom!
I agree East New York!
