Greetings from Berlin
Longtime readers might remember us posting from Berlin when we were over here for a wedding a couple of summers ago. Well, we liked it so much, we’ve relocated for a month, house-sitting a friend’s apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. We’re still going to be blogging more or less full time, but if you want to…

Longtime readers might remember us posting from Berlin when we were over here for a wedding a couple of summers ago. Well, we liked it so much, we’ve relocated for a month, house-sitting a friend’s apartment in Prenzlauer Berg. We’re still going to be blogging more or less full time, but if you want to follow along with our daily photos, check out our Tumblr blog.
Benson – scruff is king.
Mr. B.;
Are you emulating the women in Germany who don’t shave their legs? What’s with the photo in the blog? Come on, Mr. B, make yourself presentable!
Anyway, have a great time.
Thanks, DS – but already booked and nonrefundable cause I got such a great rate. 1.25 euro to the dollar for three nights makes the whole thing $250. Good to know about apartments for the future! You have any must-see things to suggest?
You are correct, Snark. In fact Prenzlauer Berg actually has the highest birth rate of anywhere in Germany. As you know, the country has a major problem with a low birth rate and declining population, but Prenzlauer Berg is crawling with babies and kids.
But they don’t stay. Most of them end up moving to West Germany once their kids become school age because the schools in Prenzlauer Berg aren’t great.
I’d recommend staying in an apartment rather than a hotel:

Take good notes, Mr. B. I’m going in October for a quick trip and would love some suggestions. How cool does the hotel where I’m staying look?

Prenzlauer Berg is the Park Slope of Berlin. Great place.
Have fun, Mr. B! Are we expected to behave for EmilyNonko while you’re away? She met some of us in person last week, and apparently she hasn’t quit yet.
Was just there in April staying in Prenzlauer Berg. Wonderful neighborhood. Enjoy!
