Foreclosure of the Week: 136 Underhill Avenue
This is one of the mostif not the mostvaluable townhouses we’ve seen fall into the foreclosure hole in this market cycle. The four-story, two-family house has a lien of $990,000 on it and, depending on the condition of the interiors are in, would fetch over $1,500,000 on the open market. Kinda makes you wonder why…

Kinda makes you wonder why the owner doesn’t just sell it quickly at a small discount, pay off the lien and keep the difference.

“:I can’t find any info on ACRIS about this location. Just a bug in acris or what?
Why don’t sell when prop is worth considerable more than mortgage?
Estate problems, divorce problems, etc, etc. etc.”
The owner has owned this property since 1953. If you want to find our how to see the deed, ask davetheassholeinbedstuy! This is a case of FRAUD refi where someone blew the equity out of the house. The house was paid off then in 2005 some assfuck refied it. Fraud is going to kill the Mutant Real Estate Bubble.
The What
Someday this war is gonna end…
it’s going to take a helluva lot more gentrification for prospect heights not to be half ghetto. a million + is a ton of money. nice not to have to live around trash for 7 figures. next.
this place is right across from Underhill Park. A (relatively) quiet street, not much traffic. Great spot for a family with some rugrats, with that park right there.
I can’t find any info on ACRIS about this location. Just a bug in acris or what?

“How do you know What? Did you trek your lazy ass all the way over from NJ to see the place??”
I’m over there everyday.
“See, Dave, The What sees the area around him changing and he can’t handle it. So he tries to create this world in which Brooklyn goes back to the hell hole he once knew it to be”
Well…. I see the Asshats riding in cop cars looking for the person(s) who just stomped the shit out of them.
I see drugs going down all over. I see a dysfunctional Fulton St. Things have NOT change all that much!
“Unfortunately, the tide has turned and the old ways will never return.”
Sure has!!! I see the Mutant Asset Bubble popping and the value of your “Investments” going to shit!
“You should feel sorry for the What. He has sexual orientation issues, a lack of a formal education and no job prospects that will save him from his own financial ruin.”
Yep but when the hood return back, I will still live here. While you asshats are calling U-Hall!!
“The war is over. The What lost”
The war is not over. BTW This is the spring selling season, Right? I don’t see that many sales going on. Just go into a Real Estate office and ask then how is thing going? Sales volume has fallen off a cliff and the Developers are stuck with inventory. Yep homeboy, this is going to be fun.
One last thing, why is this guy going into foreclosure? A prime block and he can’t save himself. Sign of things to come.
The What
Someday this war is gonna end..
11:56, damn I loved your post! But is Lodi, NJ really changing that much? And who needs an education when one can cut and paste / plagiarize the thoughts of others? This gives him more time for his homoerotic fantasies.
Let’s just hope Dave’s right and he’s really on drugs – I would hate to think I live in a world where people are born that idiotic.
Looks like the City also has a lien against this place for back taxes, but only like $15k.
Very good 11:56. He may also have done too many drugs in the 60s,70s or 80s!!!
See, Dave, The What sees the area around him changing and he can’t handle it. So he tries to create this world in which Brooklyn goes back to the hell hole he once knew it to be. This makes him feel more at home as the eductated leave and trash like him reclaim the old hood.
Unfortunately, the tide has turned and the old ways will never return. That leaves The What feeling like a fish out of water. Too late to get an education. Too late to get a better job. He is trapped and it is driving him crazy. Obviously.
You should feel sorry for the What. He has sexual orientation issues, a lack of a formal education and no job prospects that will save him from his own financial ruin.
The war is over. The What lost.
