The floorplan’s a little tight, but otherwise this one-bedroom co-op at 87 Remsen Street in Brooklyn Heights is a real looker. The listing hit the market in February with an asking price of $425,000 but was recently reduced to $399,000. The details in the apartment—the woodwork in particular—are gorgeous and the living room is quite generously sized. Too bad the maintenance is so darn high ($1,464).

Yes, crazy maintenance not explained by utilities….
And “floorplan’s a little tight” — yup. You have to eat standing up, or on couch…. This is under 500 feet.
Price per foot would not be unheard of in BH, at all, but with this maintenance, it’s too high.
Very pretty; needs another 150 square feet.
(Oh, yes, was wondering too why no windows/no views…)
Assuming 4F and 4R have the same number of shares, the maintenance went up 75% in 5 years. Something’s screwy.
This is a pretty building. I saw an apartment here once – filled with beautiful woodwork and a teensy tiny kitchen – which appears to be the case here. And crazy maintenance. What is going on with the financials?
gas is probably 20, electric 70 (accounts for the summer spikes). an not seeing how this is makes the maintenance OK. No on pays for water in a coop unit
bhs’s site is loopy lately, you have to click around to get the p ictures to load…
and yes, as of today, my browser has started crashing again [market place slideshow i think]
how much are utilities including central air worth? that has to be taken into consideration… plus elevator is nice…
but no shots of windows, no description of view… is it on the back and dark?
Minard, according to BHS’s website, it’s an elevator building, not a walk-up. Central air not too shabby. If all utilities included really means that, i.e., no separate electric, water, gas bills, that explains the maintenance.
All that said, beautiful apartment. Love the building, the block, the location right off the Promenade.
Not a bad price for a 1-bedroom in this location with all that detail.
But I can’t get the floorplan to open on BHS’s site. Anyone else having this problem lately?
Ty, we’re all having the same problem. Every time we refresh. Solutions for disabling Flash and/or using other browsers in the OT > > >
Had gotten better for awhile, but it’s pretty bad again. Mr. B is supposed to be fixing it.
super-annoying flash player problems again on this blog.
according to a real knowledgeable IT person, it’s the god damn BHS flash ad causing this god awful flash crashes. it’s worst the than the humungous maintenance for this pretty little pad
