The two-bedroom FSBO at 245 Henry Street isn’t the fanciest apartment in the neighborhood but it does look like a very sensible, well-laid-out apartment for a young couple early on in the breeding process. Maintenance of $1,204 looks a bit high for only a part-time doorman, but the asking price of $689,000 is about as low as you can expect to find for an apartment of this size in this part of town.

  1. “with this ridiculous maintenance, you could do a lot better for your $700,000 or whatever it is in some other neighborhood”

Yeah, but if you want to live in Brooklyn Heights — as I do — it’s a well-priced, well laid out apartment in a great location. I could probably get more for my money in another neighborhood, but I prefer to stay in Brooklyn Heights-Cobble Hill.

  2. Oh purlease.

I thought the breeding comment was funny (and my gay friends trashtalk my breeder self all the time). The term is way more of a poking-fun thing than a insult thing – I can’t say I’ve ever heard it used by someone who was actually trying to hurt someone’s feelings.

  3. Wait, what, M4L? Who is off in the timing? Not you?

Anyway, with this ridiculous maintenance, you could do a lot better for your $700,000 or whatever it is in some other neighborhood.

But maybe what Brownstoner meant to say is that this is a perfect apartment and location for a retired divorced person who is looking to downsize from a house.
