Asking price is $385,000 and the maintenance is $617 a month.

I know this block and it is beautiful, and has lots of cool stores and restaurants nearby. I am surprised the price is below $400,000. That is very good for this neighborhood. Facing the back courtyard is important because you can see trees and greenery and its quiet. You can always change the cabinets–those are the easiest thing to fix.
I would say its a very good deal.
Ahhhh, a meeting of minds. For the moment, anyway. What bliss.
yes, that is what I mean, poor choice of wording on my part, my bad.
So, STARGAZER, you are saying it isn’t worth it to YOU. That is, of course, completely valid. But very different from saying “it isn’t worth it.”
Thank you Mother-B, I know you get it !!
Brooklyn-chick, yeah, you get it too !!
Everyone has different standards of what they feel is nice and what isn’t, or what is a good buy or not. A 24 year old will never see the logic of a 45 year old…..or whatever age difference. What is cool, and gritty and funky could also be run down, old and just plain old dump……..depend on how you look at it.
Transplants see Williamsburg as hip and cool, us older native Brooklynites see it as a run down dump.
True it is location, but you are in your home more than you are in the street. It isn’t that this apartment is not nice, I just don’t feel it is worth the price that has been asked.
I’m sorry, I don’t care if it takes 5 minutes to get to Manhattan. It still isn’t worth the money.Maybe to someone who is just starting out on their own. But I am already established, so it is too small, not enough closets, too small, did I say it was small. Oh well……………
I can’t say say no more, and I won’t.
Nothing interesting whatsoever about that apartment, and those kitchen cabinets, which dominate the living room, are really hideous and cheap looking. The location (Bergen & 4th) is pretty near the Atlantic Yards project, too.
I can’t comment on the price per se, but nearly $400K for a boring apartment on a busy street?
I agree the kitchen cabinets are horrible…but I must say the snobs on this brownstoner are horrible also. Judging people by where they live and how long it takes to get to “manhattan” who gives a fuck about manhattan…ain’t that why we moved to Brooklyn!
a pretty block but bad traffic. it backs up solid during rush hours. and of course will only be worse with the arena.
And most people work in Manhattan.
