sorry, but any shade of lightish blue remindes me of a hospital.
Walk-up.
Bedroom is as wide or narrow (depending if you’re an optimist or a pessimist) as the bathroom.
Isn’t a bad studio. But the price should be a tad lower to be in line walk-up studios.
The bathroom is fine! I was expecting missing tiles in a 50s-style black-and white hexagon floor.
I’m on the fourth floor in a walkup now, it is lovely being on the top.
Nomi, Glidden’s “True Turqouise” I did my parlour with it.
Quick addition, the listing says the place has south exposure, which would suggest (unless I’ve got my directions messed up) the unit faces into the block, or possibly into another building. It certainly looks like the latter from the kitchen and living room photos.
This was on the market last year for $219k:

I wonder whether the windows look out on 4th Ave, you might be on 44th Street. Being on top of the subway has it’s pro’s and con’s (though it’s the R, the bane of my existence currently).
The top floor thing is probably good for the noise, and it’s not too high because I’m expecting this is a walk-up. Sad enough the bedroom is barely larger than the one I grew up in as a kid, which fit a twin bed going the width of the room, it didn’t have any headboard so it just fit. You could probably fit a simple full bed there, but not much else.
And Nomi’s right, that bathroom is all kinds of horrendous.
As long as this unit doesn’t face 4th the noise is tolerable. I lived on 4th and my room faced 4th. I didn’t realize how sleep deprived I was until I moved.
I think this would be a good buy for someone looking for a studio. With this you get a decently priced studio with half a bedroom thrown in for free.
I think the advantage of being in the top floor of a 4 story is not having to hear people walking above you.
