While we’re not in love with some of the design touches in the kitchen and bathrooms, this three-bedroom co-op at 135 Prospect Park West has a very nice prewar feel to it. The configuration is a little odd but there are a ton of windows (with great views) and a couple of fireplaces to help make up for it. The maintenance of $1,593 seems a little high though. The asking price is $1,225,000, also probably a bit of a reach, considering this two-bedroom Co-op of the Day sold for $737,000 last year, though that was at the depths of the market’s despair.

the 3rd BR is 13×7 – granted not exactly a palace and 7′ wide is an issue but give me a break – the 3rd br in virtually EVERY apartment from prewar to brand new condo is usually of comparable dimensions.
“last year, though that was at the depths of the market’s despair.”
You serious?
Anyhoo…
“Helllllllp!!! I can’t get into my “new”, million dollar apartment!!!” – where the hell is the foyer/entrance?
Very large TWO bedroom, two bath plus walk in master closet. That 7′ dimension just does’nt work for a true third bedroom. Nicely laid out though with effective bedroom separation for extreme privacy. Nothing like a corner of a building on a high floor and on the park!

ilovebrooklyn — I think the apartemnt you are talking about is a slightly different, slightly larger line. Also, the LR faced onto the park, which IMO is the nicer view than the city view in this area.
This is a 2 bedroom plus Closet.
I was in this apartment about 7yrs ago – trust me the apartment is GORGEOUS. The renovation/restoration was impressive, all the woodwork, hardware, transoms etc… were spectacular. The broker should be shot for taking such lous photos.
Dont know if it will sell at that number and I recall the Coop wasnt that well funded (and had tons of LL 11/98 work) but it is a gorgeous apartment and will/should get a top price.
Who doesn’t love a wall phone with a long cord? If you are going to have a land line, might as well have a retro phone (although I would have gone for a real seventies avocado green phone, not the faux old timey black).
According to Streeteasy, an apartment in this same line went into contract this spring asking $1,175,000. I don’t think that sale has closed yet, but it suggests the price of this unit is a little optimistic but not totally out of line.
ET, looks like bad post war parquet flrs
People still install wall phones with long cords?
Reminds me of my teen years.
“looks like they had an uncle in the tile business.”
they should never speak to that Uncle again.
While I like tumbled marble in some cases, this is overkill.
Geez, give it some variety. Do an accent of another color. Have different sizes.
The kitchen is fugly also.
Still trying to figure out what the floor is.
