Co-op of the Day: 509 Court Street, #4K
While we’re not in love with the finishes in the bathroom and kitchen, this floor-through two-bedroom at 509 Court Street in Carroll Gardens has a nice feel to it. Priced at $599,000 with a $900 maintenance, the 1,015-square-foot co-op also seems reasonably priced. There’s an open house on Sunday if you wanna take a look….

Their taxes are on line. Their 1/1/2010 payment is $3.5K and their 4/1/2010 payment is $10K. I made an assumption.

DIBS- “Too bad it’s such a long ride on the F to manhattan.”
Was that sarcasm? It’s only 5 subway stops from Manhattan.
This place is enormous! I was loving it (and looking at it every other day since it was posted), but some good comments here make it less attractive:
– The stove. How hard would it be to replace it with a gas range? Since it’s electric, does that mean it’s near impossible? No way could I make do with an electric range.
– Is the air quality really that much worse than many other high-traffic spots in Brooklyn? Actually, since the BQE is elevated here, wouldn’t it be better than, say, 4th Ave or Flatbush? (both of which I have lived on or very, very near)
DeLepp, where did you learn that about tax abatement?
Does anyone know how to assess that — when the tax abatement expires and how the post-abatement is calculated?
I can’t tell…I this right on that gross corner of 9th and court? is that why they’re showing the corner building? If so what a terrible location…9th being one of the grossest blocks down here…aside from hamilton of course!
It’s really not a bad neighborhood, what with Buttermilk Channel and Luna Rossa each a block away.
My concern would be that it’s a 4th floor walk-up.
Lovely inspite of the base board heating. Looks like building coming off tax abatement as taxes are rising 200%
Yes, Snappy, stove goes. I want a gas cooktop.
Mr B is such a snob sometimes. the bathroom and kitchen look really nice- we have seen much worse on here. my biggest issue is the proximity to the BQE. noise and bad air, can’t leave the windows open.
