While this ground-floor co-op at 160 Henry Street is a far cry (both in terms of price and vertical feet) from its more famous upstairs neighbor, it’s still an attractive apartment in a great Brooklyn Heights location. It’s also a decent-sized one-bedroom with a reasonable maintenance, given that this is one of the premier doorman buildings in The Heights. What do you make of the $509,000 asking price.

  1. Yeah, I thought he was talking about the penthouse apt itself too. Now I’ll have to storm that place and find out who exactly is in it and it’ll be your fault, 11217. Will you visit me while I’m incarcerated?

  2. aj, I used to say the same thing . . . until I lived on the Garden and Parlor floors of my Brownstone. I think it would be perfectly nice overlooking the rear garden here, assuming the listing is accurate.

  3. 11217, thanks for clarifying. As everyone knows, I read this blog pretty darn regularly and still didn’t consider the above prose an “outing” but I’m likely much more oblivious than the average person. I’m sure Mrs C. would wholeheartedly agree with that, anyway.

  4. Oh, and I would probably preserve what I could from the kitchen, but demolish it and move it to what is now the dining room. I would open up that wall btwn living room and current dining room, and turn the existing kitchen into a second bedroom.
