This has to be one of the nicer bachelor pads in Bed Stuy. The open plan of the co-op at 93 Lexington Avenue isn’t for everyone, but the open loft makes for a pretty sweet entertaining space. While we’re not always fans of exposed brick and track lighting, we think they work nicely in this case. And, as we’ve said before, we dig the width of Lexington Avenue and the range of attractive old industrial buildings that line it. After more than three months on the market at $1,300,000, the 2,500-square-foot pad was just reduced to $1,195,000. As nice a place as we think it is, this is still far from a lay-up. just about every single post on this thread is just plain idiotic. it really makes me think that the majority of brownstoners readers are total losers who have no vision whatsoever.

Every Saturday, rain or shine, black, white, Latino, Asian and Arabic parents allow their children to walk the streets of Crown Heights and Bed Stuy unsupervised.

Can we stop the alarmist bulldinky here? Does anyone actually think that any (fill in racial/ethnic group here) good parent doesn’t care about the safety of their child? If these neighborhoods were SOOOOO dangerous, they would be empty of anyone with a family and children.
If you don’t like it here, and don’t want to live here, fine. But to post insinuations that one group is either braver than everyone else, or worse, that everyone else is so dangerous to said group, that it is amazing that they let their kids out at all, is just the usual fanning of the flames of racism and devisiveness that has permeated this site recently.
For your information, in Brower Park, in scary Crown Heights, I have seen Orthodox kids regularly playing basketball with black kids all during the summer, and everyone gets along just fine. Kids are kids. It’s the grownups who mess things up.

Please – Daveinbedstuy isn’t so bad. However, it’s ridiculous to get offended by the one good thing about hasidim neighborhoods – that they’re safe. Dave, the truth is, there are ethnic neighborhoods where the residents seem to watch the streets more closely than others – and a generic white yuppy neighborhood is not one of them. But an Italian neighborhood is VERY safe – that doesn’t mean people want to live there.

I’d be first in line to block Dave and Biff, if it were an option. They don’t add anything to this website at all. They dumb it down actually with their supposed to be, but always off the mark attempts at being witty.
