It’s located on the second floor of 279 Sterling Place, a striking Romanesque Revival red-brick school that is an individual landmark and also within the Prospect Heights Historic District. Designed by James W. Naughton, the school was built in 1895, fell into disrepair in the 20th century, and was converted to apartments in the 1980s.

The apartment radiates off from a central great room with enormous windows and a 14-foot-high ceiling emphasized by tripartite moldings. The three bedrooms are similarly appointed, including one in a tower with windows on two exposures.

Open to the great room, the u-shaped kitchen has plenty of storage in wood cupboards, granite counters, and a dishwasher. A windowless but spacious den is shown set up as an office.
