Our picks for open houses to check out this weekend are found in Sunset Park, Crown Heights, Flatbush and Dyker Heights. They range in price from $915,000 to $1.89 million.

In Sunset Park, an early 20th century two-family has two identical and unusually spacious apartments with separate entrances as well as a driveway and two-car garage. Perhaps dating from the 1920s, the semi-detached tapestry brick house has some neo-Classical elements such as keystones and a dormer, now covered in siding, and when built had windows reminiscent of fanlights, an old tax photo of the row shows. With six rooms and one bathroom each, the apartments appear in good condition, although perhaps in need of some stripping away of carpets and dropped ceilings. One kitchen has circa 1930s cupboards and a bathroom has vintage Deco lilac tile.

In Crown Heights near St. John’s Park, a bow-fronted row house appears in good shape, with high ceilings, wall moldings and parquet. The two-family was built with a classic circa-1900 layout consisting of two nearly identical apartments both with a double parlor in front, a small bedroom in the middle and a dining room next to the kitchen in the rear. The bottom apartment has retained its original organization, while the floor plan of the one on top has been flipped, creating three bedrooms in front and rear and a large windowless living-dining area in the middle of the unit. The house has a large backyard and a semi-finished basement with two outside entrances and a bathroom. It last sold in 2013 for $650,000.

In Dyker Heights, an early 20th century semi-detached brick house with a garage is move-in ready and has fun updates as well as original details. The single-family has mini split air conditioning, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. A winding path with steps leads to the front door and a terrace. A den with colorful wallpaper in the front has been opened to the living room, and a wide arched doorway leads to the dining room and original staircase. There is parquet with inlaid borders throughout and, in the renovated kitchen, a colorful tile backsplash. A bathroom with attractive mid-century blue wall tile and toilet has been updated with new floor tile and a white vanity with marble top. Like the Sunset Park house, this one also has a dormer on the roof that has been covered in siding. The below-grade basement is finished and the yard is paved.

In Flatbush, another early 20th century semi-detached house with a garage (and a dormer window) is set up as a single-family. It has a sunroom, living room, dining room and kitchen on the first floor, with three bedrooms and a bath on the top floor. The finished basement contains a half bath and bar. The frame house has a cheery yellow front door and attractive parquet and molding throughout. Bars cover the windows on the first floor, and the backyard could use some sprucing. It last changed hands in 2017 for $724,500.
