Our picks for open houses to check out this weekend are all wood frame dwellings and are found in Bay Ridge, Bed Stuy and Cypress Hills. They range in price from $499,000 to $1.385 million.

Constructed in 1924 as a single-family, this detached wood frame house was converted to a two-family in 1941, according to the certificate of occupancy. It still has that arrangement, with a top floor rental and a lower duplex. The duplex has a living room, kitchen, bedroom and full bath on the main level and laundry, rec room and full bath in the basement. There are parquet floors, arched openings and an original stair. There are a fair number of dropped ceilings on view in the listing photos. A private driveway provides access to a two-car garage.

This Bed Stuy single-family wood frame got a new stucco facade, but inside there are still some 19th century details, including a stair with newel post and mantels along with later wall moldings and a mix of wood floors. The floor plans show that the just over 16.5-foot-wide house has two kitchens. The main one is on the garden level along with a living room and full bath, while the parlor level is currently set up for bedroom use. The second floor has a kitchenette, two bedrooms and a full bath.

In Cypress Hills, this 19th century wood frame is intriguing, but definitely a major project for an old house lover. While the listing doesn’t show interior photos, the details and condition of the house can be seen in a video tour. It shows the 18-foot-wide single family has mantels, picture rails, wood floors, a built-in cupboard in the kitchen, and a bathroom with wainscoting and wood floors. According to the listing, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The historic tax photo shows the bracketed cornice and columned porch, which are still in place. In 1893, the house was advertised for rent as a two-story frame house with six rooms, a cemented cellar, gas fixtures and a large grape arbor in the yard.
