This week, a look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago focuses on homes in Clinton Hill, Windsor Terrace, Bay Ridge, and Brooklyn Heights. How did they fare?
In Clinton Hill, the right buyer will need to have the vision and energy for a complete reno and have an income that fits the requirements for this flexible four-room walk-up apartment. It is on the third floor of 116 Cambridge Place, an early 20th century flats building that is now an income-restricted HDFC (Housing Development Fund Corporation) co-operative, one of the many properties taken by the city in the 1970s and 1980s and sold to tenants. This former Co-op of the Day is still available.
Offering a spacious layout with a large foyer, two bedrooms, and a dining alcove, this Windsor Terrace apartment also has a location near Prospect Park. On the first floor of the six-story 202 Seeley Street, there are parquet floors, five closets, and all white finishes throughout the unit. Original floor plans show that the layout of this unit has remained unchanged. This former Co-op of the Day sold in April for $902,500, which was $7,500 over the asking price.
Constructed in 1924 as a single-family, this detached wood frame house was converted to a two-family in 1941, according to the certificate of occupancy. It still has that arrangement, with a top floor rental and a lower duplex. There are parquet floors, arched openings, and an original stair. This former Open House Pick is still available.
One of the picturesque wood frames of Brooklyn Heights is on the market for the first time in decades and, in addition to its exterior charm, it has a location on one of the area’s fruit streets and counts Plymouth Church as a neighbor. Within the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, 69 Orange Street also has some interior details like mantels, wood floors and a newel post that reflect a few different eras in the over 190 year history of the dwelling. This former House of the Day is still available.
