This week, we’re spinning the hands of the clock six months and revisiting four Open House Picks we featured April.

Unusually, they were all spectacular dwellings, all two-families, and all in move-in condition. Buyers favored the more affordable of the four and snapped up the two lower-priced properties. Of the higher-priced pair, one was taken off the market in July and the other is still available.

On Cranberry Street in the north end of Brooklyn Heights we’ve got a circa-1829 Greek Revival townhouse. At 25 feet wide, it’s grand in both appearance and proportion. It’s got wide-plank floors, plaster crown moldings and medallions, and black marble fireplaces with gold veins. There’s a one-bedroom rental on the garden floor and a five-bedroom triplex above. The listing was taken off the market in July.

Next up is another 19th-century model, though not quite as old — this one dates back to around 1881, according to the listing. A Neo-Grec brownstone on 8th Avenue in northern Park Slope, it’s got grandeur to match the last one, and has the same layout as well — a five-bedroom triplex over a one-bedroom rental. Details include plasterwork, mantels, pocket shutters and inlaid floors. It’s still available for $3.495 million, a reduction of $500,000.

On Madison Street in Bed Stuy we’ve got another Neo-Grec brownstone of roughly the same vintage. This one’s been beautifully renovated by a principal at the design and architecture firm KGBL, and combines modern finishes with original details including moldings, wainscoting, pocket doors and a giant pier mirror in the front parlor. Continuing the trend, it’s got a garden rental with a triplex above — this one’s got three bedrooms and incorporates a full-floor master suite. This home sold in July for $2.61 million, $340,000 below ask.

Finally, we’ve got a classic Edwardian on East 14th Street in Midwood. This one’s got a three-bedroom unit on the ground floor with a four-bedroom duplex above. It looks to be in great shape, with details including stained glass, lovely coffered ceilings, inlaid floors, a pair of working fireplaces and a built-in china cabinet. It’s also got something the others can’t claim: a driveway and a garage. This home sold in July for $1.45 million, $60,000 above the asking price.
