Italianate With Fireplaces and Three More to See This Weekend, Starting at $2.39 Million

All of this weekend’s picks are over $2 million and boast interior original details. They’re all within or adjacent to the brownstone belt, with one each in Brooklyn Heights and Windsor Terrace and two in Bed Stuy.

First up, in Brooklyn Heights, a renovated four-story single-family Italianate with parquet floors, eight wood-burning fireplaces, elaborate moldings and original doors. The cellar is finished, and there’s central air. In the rear parlor, two sets of French doors lead to a balcony overlooking the landscaped garden and its pergola. A walk-in closet serves as a pass-through between the master and a second bedroom on the third floor, and the fourth floor has two more bedrooms and a home office-sized space. The garden level has been opened up and features a sitting room, kitchen with island in the center, and dining room with doors that open fully to the backyard.

Next, in Bed Stuy, a nearly all white four-story, three-family Italianate is configured as two floor-through apartments beneath an upper duplex. There’s a three-story extension containing a bedroom and closet on each floor. The kitchens and baths have been updated, and the floor is a pale grey. The minimalist interior boasts some original moldings, mantels and the original staircase.

In Windsor Terrace is a three-story three-family. The Beaux Arts-style facade is pale brick with Corinthian columns, swags, the original cornice and bay windows. Only two photos are available of the interior, and both show an all-white space with moldings and French doors. The floor-through units are large — the top two both have three bedrooms each. The garden is accessible to all the units via the cellar.

Last up, again in Bed Stuy, we have a four-family brownstone configured as four units. The original details are lovely — pocket shutters, ceiling medallions, millwork moldings, baseboards and an original newel post — but the home could probably use some attention. The original layout has been altered: On the parlor floor, for example, a bathroom, hall, office and bedroom have been inserted into the front parlor. None of the kitchens or bathrooms are pictured.
