This week, our look back at four of our featured listings from six months ago centers on homes in Bay Ridge, Bushwick, Prospect Lefferts Gardens and Brooklyn Heights. How did they fare?
First, a choice three-story home in the Prospect Gardens Historic District with some desirable original details and a landscaped garden with an oak tree. Located at 292 Sterling Street, it stands five blocks away from Prospect Park. This former House of the Day sold in November for $1.675 million, which was the initial asking price.
Next, a spacious co-op in Brooklyn Heights, just a block from the Promenade, that is quite luxurious. Located at 62 Montague Street, a Romanesque Revival stunner and the first apartment building designed by architect Montrose Morris, it’s fitting that it comes with an equally hefty price tag and monthly maintenance. This former Co-op of the Day sold in November for $2.95 million, which was $45,000 below the asking price.
Then there’s a two-story single-family home in Bay Ridge with Spanish neo-Colonial notes and a touch of Arts and Crafts design. Located at 475 82nd Street, it boasts a private two-car garage and driveway. Despite the listing stating it’s “in need of a thorough renovation,” the early 20th century home appears well preserved in the few available photos, with a number of original details not often found in the neighborhood. This former House of the Day sold in December for the asking price of $999,000.
To end things this week, there’s a three-family wood frame in Bushwick with some details, including five decorative fireplaces — one a stunning tiled mantel — in addition to plenty of other small original notes. Located at 717 Chauncey Street, the roof was recently redone, according to the listing, and the backyard needs work. This former Open House Pick entered contract in September 2018.
