Big Crowds at Open House for Williamsburg Condos

“Madhouse” is the only word to describe the open house last night at 199 South 1st Street, the Burg condo building that hit the market last week but officially launched yesterday. One hundred and fifty people RSVP’d; we heard almost 200 people showed up. Brokers also said they were getting lots of offers on the spot for the eight one- and two-bedroom units. The big appeal? The finishes looked pretty standard, as far as Williamsburg stock goes, but all the units did have a nice amount of outdoor space and sizable closets. (Four units have especially large outdoor spaces.) Also, prices range from $509,000 to $699,000, definitely cheaper than you’d pay a little more north, or closer to the water.
