Well, leave it to Bob Toll to cast storm clouds over a Bloomberg news article that contains a slightly positive piece of news—the index of pending home sales rose 6.3 percent in April—about the national housing market. “What people are most scared of is looking like a schmuck,” said Toll, who believes the housing slump will last another two to three years, at a conference in New York last week. “What do I want to buy a home for and next year be looking at 10 percent less asset?” Economists, meanwhile, incorrectly predicted that the index of pending home sales would actually fall slightly in April. Either way, no one’s taking the news as a sure sign that housing is on the rebound, or that there’s going to be a substantial dent in the 5 million or so unsold homes on the market, or that the foreclosure rate is going to take a nosedive anytime soon.

  1. “What bothers you, dear, is that I am right and you know it. ”

‘Scuse me, I need a minute here to wipe my eyes- ooooooohhhhh. Such a brilliant and witty comeback. Why it’s just fraught with intellectual prowess (as are the rest of your posts).

And as I said, sayin’ it don’t make it so. Perhaps you should invest in a few philosophical classes or even debate classes- something -anything!- that would teach you the rigors of logic and discourse. You’re lucky- I’m sticking my neck out here and giving you the benefit of the doubt that you in fact would be capable of learning.

Well, if nothing else you’ve provided me with a few minutes of fun (like shooting fish in a barrel is fun) when I need a break from my business which I run from home- and do well with, thank you very much. I am thinking you either have wealthy elitist parents, or you work for someone else who had yet to recognize your particular talent (and I think that was self-applause, if I remember correctly.)

I don’t assume only white people are rich- that was your assumption but look! we’ve found another of your talents- overreaching.

  2. That’s right, complain about my spelling. That changes the argument completely.

You can’t afford the Bowery bxgrl. btw: the landfill on staten island was closed years ago. You need to get out of the boogie down more often.

What bothers you, dear, is that I am right and you know it. You are a second-class citizen. You don’t want to admit it, but you are. We all know you are.

I do like that you assume all rich people are white. There are plenty of people of all races who are rich. You just aren’t one of them.

    Happy renting.

  4. Well, 2 poster trolls- one’s a nazi and the other is just a mindless drone (er- didn’t you mean Arguing?) who thinks a debate is won by saying “I’m right and you’re not.” I just love you guys- you are such hoots.

Well, 5:11 – you’ll be waiting a long time before your ethnic cleansing takes place. You can post anything- for all we know you’re living in an SRO on the Bowery with roaches crawling in and out of your blankets and you haven’t bathed in days.

I have no idea what made you the men or women you are today but I do wish child services had intervened. Well, the both of you, puff out your little chests and strut around. It’s pretty obvious you think you’re big successful guys on brownstoner- and that’s a damn poor indication of success in life.

Oh- 5:11-and thanks for not offering to rent me a room- as I said before, trailers in rat infested parks are not my thing. (I also expect indoor plumbing and a kitchen that doesn’t fit in a closet.)

  5. bxgrl: Your response actually describes you perfectly. You are, by far, the biggest idiot on this site. If you can’t recognize your own short comings as it relates to your agruing skills, there is no hope for you. Now, clean the toilets, kitty litter girl.

  6. 4:57: I am the future of Brooklyn. Wealthy, well-educated, own my home, don’t rent any of it out to losers like you, hate the trash in the hood, including that loser the t’What, but will tolerate them until they are priced out and looking forward to a cleaner, safer borough. If you don’t like me, don’t worry. Soon you too will be gone and it won’t matter what you think. You can just keep coming back to Brownstoner to see how well I am doing and post your sad-assed comments, which is all you will have left in this world.

  7. Ah guest- saying it don’t make it so. I surmise that your inability to respond in any meaningful way (no- ranting and name calling is not meaningful)still makes you the poster boy for Lame Response. You sound like a 5 year old trying to find a comeback comment. So not working for you. Clean your own toilets, when you put them in. You might need to buy “Toilet usage for dummies” though if you can’t figure out how to use them.

I’ll let the What answer for himself- but i will say that at least when he posts he puts in links and information he feels makes his point. You may not agree with it but you have yet to do more than spout off opinionated generalities that seem to exist only in your puny neural pathways. About the only thing you’ve managed to do is prove the ability to self-applaud is a talent you actually possess.

  8. Sorry about the double post. If I could delete it, I would. I’d correct my mistake, too. I forgot that in most of the brownstone neighborhoods, you also need to make an exception for 1975-1985, when white flight was causing price declines south of Flatbush Ave and the black bourgeoisie was fleeing to the ‘burbs from north of it.

But otherwise, prices always go up.
