According to a tipster, it won’t be long before the moving trucks pull up in front of One Hanson Place. Apparently, the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy has been obtained for floors 9 through 14 and closings are being scheduled. The TCO for floors 15 and 16 is expected by the end of January with closings in March. Have any readers had their closings scheduled or take place yet?

  1. Crown Heights troll = PLG troll. Ignore.

Is there any word on what is going to be in the commercial space at One Hanson. And does anyone have the link to the rendering for the new entrance to the LIRR across the street?

  2. How about we get back to the original topic? Start a thread somewhere else on Crown Heights. One Hanson isn’t anywhere near there so why discuss it here?

Anybody out there moving in to One Hanson? I am and this post confirms the information I’ve been hearing…

  3. I moved to CH about two years ago. If anything, I believe it’s more dangerous now than when I arrived. Yes, there are lots of people working to make the nabe better, but we aren’t going to promote a safer community in CH by failing to tell the truth about the current state of things.

  4. Give Montrose a break, it’s the holidays.
Terrible acts of violence can happen to any one of us anywhere. So lets be thankful that crime is generally down in the city and hope that the victim’s family will have the strength to recover from this.
Crown Heights is improving every year. Lovers of Brooklyn and historic neighborhoods should be applauding and encouraging that trend.

  5. Montrose Morris is a total shill. She’s demonstrated that time and again.

I also wish someone would have taught her that brevity is a virtue. She has the lowest “signal to noise” ratio of any poster on this board.

    Prolixity, thy name is Montrose!

  6. Yeah, waaayyy off topic. If Brownstoner wants to start a thread on this, I will be more than happy to rock and roll. Let me just say this:

I am extremely upset and saddened by the death of Ms Simon, whose was shot on Eastern Parkway between Bedford and Franklin. The degenerate who shot her should never see the light of day again, and this is yet another reason why the proliferation of guns in our society is just wrong. There are too many guns in the hands of idiots everywhere. In Crown Heights, in other parts of Brooklyn, the rest of the city, and in the hands of disturbed children who frequent schools and malls.

While none of those events excuses this shooting, and while I am in no way trivialzing it, it still does not represent the way of life, or the people of Crown Heights. I do not hear gunshots at night, and I am not afraid to go out into the street during the day, or night. This is a fine community going through growing pains, and economic and social upheaval. Blame the shooter, blame guns, blame the criminal justice system, blame George Bush, if it makes you feel better. But don’t blame the community.

This is the same community that is represented by countless strangers, black, white and otherwise, who brought food and a word of solace, prayer and condolances to the Simon house, and have been actively seeking justice and better police protection for our neighborhood. We’re out here doing what we can for a neighborhood we love. If that makes me a shill, then I’m a shill.

Happy Holidays, and peace to all.
