A recent trip to Bed Stuy revealed some major progress on two larger-scale affordable housing developments in the neighborhood. The first is The Shelton, (pictured) an 83-unit affordable co-op on Lafayette between Throop and Marcus Garvey that’s supposed to be ready for occupancy in May 2011. We checked in when it was first getting bricked and think it’s looking pretty good now. The other is the Garvey Apartments at 1600 Fulton, (pictured after the jump) which has finished construction. According to the website, the application deadline for the affordable rental units is fast approaching, and expected occupancy is Spring 2011.

Both are nice looking.
