The three-story loft building at 66-68 Washington Avenue in the Clinton Hill portion of Wallabout has been carved up into a mix of residential and commercial condominium units which have just hit the market this week. The owner clearly has not done any renovation as part of the move but some of the spaces (particularly the top-floor residential units and the ground-floor commercial unit) are compelling enough for their raw charm that it’s just as well to keep the asking prices manageable and let buyers decide where to spend the renovation money. That’s not to say these places are cheap given their rawness (at between $600 and $700 a foot they’re not) but they are unusual and offer a rare chance for artist loft living in this part of town. We’ve always been a fan of this block and since it’s zoned M-1 there aren’t a whole lot of chances to live here.
