414 Hicks, the rental-condo hybrid overlooking the BQE that we’ve been tracking closely for the past couple of years, recently made the application for its affordable rental units available on line; the deadline for submissions is June 25. In addition to the 94 affordable rentals, the new development, which is officially being called the Columbia Hicks Apartments, will also offer 54 market-rate condos for sale. The website says that occupancy will start this summer.

And this plan certainly does discriminate against single people – you need a minimum 2 person household to have a 2 bedroom. I need a second bedroom for a home office/guestroom.”
Personally I’m glad my taxes aren’t going to subsidize people’s guest rooms. I would rather have those extra bedrooms going to families where kids are currently sleeping on the living room couch. One bedroom per occupant is plenty generous.
Pets have a way of destroying apartments unfortunately. If pets are allowed, there should be an additional deposit
I have a small dog… so might be worth applying. Not that bad of an application… and based on this not being THAT great of a deal (quite the walk from the subway, rent not a steal, and proximity to BQE), I can’t imagine that many applications.
Thanks all for the info.

And especially not pits. For liability insurance reasons. Very sad – most pits a just total lovebugs, but there are those that have been perverted.

Hey Rob, why do you say that they do not allow pets.
actually im just assuming… they might allow small pets, but almost all new construction buildings these days dont allow larger breed dogs for some reason.

this reminds me, does anyone know if they have done the lottery for the Atlantic Terraces apartment?
Hey Rob, why do you say that they do not allow pets. I’m thinking of applying, but that would be a deal breaker for me. I don’t see that anywhere in the PDF or website.
